With Iris 2, Izotope more or less ignored the forward thinking tools, added many questionable synth elements, broke many things and completely busted backward compatibility. On top of that, since Iris 2 didn't sell, it's now essentially abandonware. Dec 02, 2013 Omnisphere is a synth whilst Komplete is a bundle. It would probably be better to compare Omnisphere with Absynth and Alchemy. Omnisphere may come with some outstanding sounds out of the box but you can load in your own samples in Alchemy and Absynth which isn't possible with Omnisphere and kind of reduces your sound design options. Iris 2 really excels at morphing sampled sounds, and although you can do something similar with wavetables in Serum, that's where Iris 2 really shines. There is obviously going to be superior DSP in Iris 2, but it all means nothing if it's kind of difficult to work with. Not difficult as.
